4 Pce Cover Band

The Cover Band delivers high-energy, engaging performances by covering a variety of musical themes as a cover band in a bar or pub environment. The Cover Band consists of four musicians with instrumentation that includes Bass, Drums, Lead Guitar and either Keys or Rhythm Guitar. At least two members must also provide lead vocals. The Cover Band performs without the use of backing tracks and covers a wide range of American popular music from the 1960s through today. In addition, select ships may utilize the Cover Band to provide additional musical support for branded events or in conjunction with other musical acts on board. 

The Bandleader of the Cover Band will also serve as the shipboard Music Director on their assigned ship, managing and scheduling all other musical acts on board in addition to their own band. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Entertain in assigned venues as strolling musicians or stationary up to five hours per day.

• Deliver cruise lines’s brand of entertainment by providing high energy and engaging musical performances as scheduled by shipboard and/or shoreside Entertainment Management. Demonstrate commitment to cruise line's Service & Values.

• Actively participate in assigned activities including, but not limited to trainings, drills, safety briefings, meetings and performances.

• Perform ship’s safety functions, including “Port Manning”, as required.

• Perform alongside other members of the ship board music team as assigned.

• Entertain in assigned venues for four hours each day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Four-Piece Cover Band including:

• Bass, Drums, Lead Guitar and either Keys or Rhythm Guitar.

• At least two members able to perform as Lead Vocalist.

• A Band Leader with exceptional talent management skills.

• Advanced individual musical proficiency as a vocalist and/or instrumentalist.

• Advanced ensemble musicianship.

• Ability to perform fully live without the support of backing tracks.

• Ability to adjust existing repertoire to meet branding and programming needs.

• Repertoire of 200-250 American popular music songs from the 1960’s through today.

• Ability to read musical notation is preferred although not required.

• Pre-established performance attire that is adjustable to match cruise line’s branding and programming.

• A developed social media presence is preferred.

• The ability to extend beyond a performer into an entertainer.

• Applicable experience performing for weddings, hotels, resorts, cruise ships or other similar venues.

• Fluent proficiency in the English language with near perfect English diction skills.
